The Philippines, as co-host of IPBF 2024, is pleased to announce that a number of its Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs) are organizing familiarization tours for interested IPBF Delegates of their respective ecozones on Wednesday, 22 May 2024, following the one-day forum in Manila. The following IPAs will showcase the programs and visions of their respective ecozones, including incentives and relevant processes for setting up operations:

Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA):

Eco-zoning the Philippines towards Inclusive and Sustainable Development

Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA)

A Former Ammunition Depot that is now A World Class Freeport Zone

SBMA is the operating and implementing arm of the 262-square mile area of the Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ), also known as the Subic Special Economic Zone. A self-sustaining tourism, industrial, commercial, financial, and investment hub.

The Subic Freeport Zone largely consists of protected areas and natural environment.
The Subic Bay opens to the West Philippine Sea whereas the western part of its harbor faces the Zambales mountain range, making it naturally sheltered from typhoons.

SBFZ is the first free port of the Philippines and one of the world’s successful models of military base conversion into socio-economic purposes.
