Shani is an energy policy researcher with more than seven years of experience advocating energy policy in Southeast Asia. Currently, Shani is a Senior Research Analyst on Power in ASEAN Centre for Energy, which is leading the work on the ASEAN Power Grid, Emerging technologies like Nuclear and Hydrogen, and Storage. Her journey began as a solar engineer before transitioning into policy research, driven by her passion for sustainable energy. Shani has played a vital role in supporting energy transitions in Indonesia, empowering utilities to enhance renewable energy procurement for the industrial sector. Prior to her current role, she contributed significantly as a policy analyst within the UK-Indonesia G2G program, collaborating closely with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) of Indonesia. Her efforts were pivotal in shaping long-term electricity planning strategies, establishing the Net-Zero-Emission Calculator and lead the assistance for MEMR in establishing Indonesia Hydrogen National Strategy. Shani holds BSc in Electrical Power Engineering from ITB and MSc in Sustainable Energy Technology from TU Delft, Netherlands.
