Makati Business Club

Roberto “Bobby” Batungbacal is the Executive Director of the Makati Business Club (MBC), a prominent non-profit business association in the Philippines established in 1981.  MBC has over 400 top business members and works towards a competitive, inclusive, and sustainable Philippines by collaborating with business leaders and government officials to improve job creation and living standards. Before joining MBC, Batungbacal had a 28-year career at Dow Chemicals, retiring in 2023 after serving as the Philippine Country Manager for 16 years.  His roles at Dow included Asia Pacific Marketing Manager, Regional Sales Director for several Asia-Pacific countries, and a Six Sigma Blackbelt leading international projects. He has also held key positions in several Philippine business and industry groups, including the American Chamber of Commerce and the Management Association of the Philippines.  Batungbacal earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from U.P. Diliman and an Executive MBA from the Asian Institute of Management.  He is a fervent supporter of Philippine manufacturing, aligning with MBC's goals of boosting jobs and competitiveness.
